Illegal resident steals car in Tel Aviv - and hits cyclist to death near Herzliya beach

A 24-year-old illegal resident from Shechem was arrested on suspicion of stealing a car in Tel Aviv and running over a cyclist, approximately 50 years old, to death near Herzliya beach. The car overturned, and burglary and theft tools were found at the scene. The cyclist was evacuated in critical condition while undergoing resuscitation and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

A 24-year-old illegal resident from Shechem was arrested on suspicion of stealing a car in Tel Aviv, driving it, and hitting a cyclist, approximately 50 years old, to death near Herzliya beach. The incident occurred this morning (Wednesday) near the beach and Yonitzman Street. The stolen car overturned at the scene. Inside the car, a bag containing property used for car theft was found: a starter computer, a hammer, and breaking tools. The cyclist was evacuated to Ichilov Hospital in critical condition while undergoing resuscitation, but his death was determined shortly after. The suspect was arrested by police, and traffic investigators are collecting evidence at the scene.
