Ministry of Education and Higher Education announces details of the start of the 2026/2027 academic year in the Gaza Strip

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Gaza officially announced the details of the new academic year 2026/2027, which will begin on Saturday, September 19, 2026. The plan includes two tracks: in-person education for students within the Strip who are able to attend, and e-learning for students outside Gaza or those whose circumstances prevent them from attending. It also announced a trial opening of virtual schools on Thursday, September 17.

It also announced a trial opening of virtual schools on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 4:30 to 5:00 PM, and a restructuring of virtual schools into categories: Gaza Secondary, Gaza Upper Elementary, and Gaza Lower Elementary. This step comes amid current challenges to preserve the educational future of students.
