IDF: This is the reason for expanding the yellow line in the northern Gaza Strip

The IDF revealed details about the operation to destroy Hamas's underground infrastructure in the northern Gaza Strip, explaining that the expansion of the yellow line was due to the discovery of a significant 1.5 km underground route, nicknamed "Schwartz," which was destroyed in recent days. Forces continue to operate to locate additional terrorist infrastructure.

The IDF revealed new details about the ongoing operation to destroy Hamas's underground infrastructure in the northern Gaza Strip, clarifying that one of the main reasons for expanding the yellow line was the discovery of a significant underground route about 1.5 kilometers long, nicknamed "Schwartz," which was destroyed in recent days by engineering forces. The activity was carried out by forces of the Northern Brigade under the command of Division 99, in cooperation with the engineering forces of the Southern Command. The soldiers continue to operate east of the yellow line with the aim of locating and destroying additional terrorist infrastructure, along with weapons warehouses. The IDF emphasized that since the ceasefire came into effect, many tunnels have been destroyed in the yellow line area, and that some of the infrastructure was known to the security establishment but could only be physically exposed after the expansion of operational control. The military also noted that the underground space continues to pose a complex intelligence and operational challenge, and that Hamas operated with significant compartmentalization, requiring extensive intelligence and technological efforts, including systematic drilling along the line.
