IDF reinforces troops ahead of Sukkot: Air Force on especially high alert

The IDF is reinforcing troops across all sectors ahead of the Sukkot holiday, under the directive of the Chief of Staff. The Air Force is on especially high alert and has increased its readiness level sixfold compared to the eve of October 7, 2023. The Central Command will be reinforced with forces from the Maglan unit, and regular battalions will remain on standby until the end of the holiday period.

The IDF announced a widespread reinforcement of forces across all sectors ahead of the Sukkot holiday, under the directive of the Chief of Staff. This move follows reinforcements carried out for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Regular battalions will remain on standby in every command until the end of the holiday period and will be available for rapid activation, alongside brigade headquarters on alert. During the holiday, combat companies will be allocated to reinforce each sector, along with reserve companies that will remain throughout the intermediate days and the second holiday. Most soldiers in brigade training bases will spend the holiday on standby. The Central Command will be reinforced with additional forces, including units from the Maglan unit. A military source stated that the Air Force is on the highest alert and has increased its state of readiness sixfold compared to the eve of October 7, 2023. Since the massacre, the Air Force has implemented significant measures: every community in the Gaza envelope, the northern border, the seam zone, and the eastern area has received a strike envelope including dozens of disruption targets. Attack helicopter pilots and drone operators have open channels with the security centers of each community and can make direct phone contact with the security coordinator to receive a situational picture and targets for attack in case of a raid.
