IDF Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, visited today (Tuesday) a command exercise in the Gaza Division and addressed the IDF's readiness to maintain security ahead of the elections. "Our goal is to thwart any threat in advance and enable the holding of democratic elections without external influence," he said. According to the IDF, the exercise was built on the conclusions and lessons drawn from the events of October 7, and simulated defense and attack scenarios to defeat the enemy. Zamir emphasized the importance of implementing the lessons: "The lessons of October 7 obligate us to ensure that such an event never happens again. We must always be prepared, understand that there are blind spots we do not identify, and prepare for every scenario." He noted that over the past week, defenses have been strengthened and forces reinforced across all arenas, and that the IDF is at a high level of alert and readiness. The exercise tested the forces' competence and their readiness for emergency missions, and a focused situational assessment was conducted to examine the division's readiness for war.
