One against all: the real battle between Filber and the other pollsters
Eight days before the elections: a sharp dispute between Channel 14 pollster Shlomo Filber, who consistently shows a majority of 61 seats for the Netanyahu bloc, and other pollsters who give the bloc 47-51 seats. Filber attributes the gap to eight mandates of former right-wing voters he believes will return to the bloc. Other pollsters explain methodological differences.
Eight days before the elections for the 26th Knesset, a deep disagreement has emerged between Channel 14 pollster Shlomo Filber of NEXT DATA and most other pollsters. Filber consistently shows a majority of 61-64 seats for the right-wing bloc led by Benjamin Netanyahu, while polls on Channels 12, 13, Kan 11, and Maariv give the bloc only 47-51 seats. Filber explains that the debate revolves around eight mandates of former Likud and right-wing voters, who he believes will return to vote for the bloc, while other pollsters estimate they will move to the opposition camp. Pollsters Shmuel Rosner, Menachem Lazar, and Yossi Tatika explain that the gaps stem from different professional decisions in question wording, collection methods, population weighting, and turnout estimation. Tatika emphasized that when the gap is large and consistent, the methodology should be examined.
