Hostage survivor Or Levy published a chilling post to his wife Einav, may God avenge her blood, who was murdered on October 7, 2023 in the death shelter at Re'im, from which he was abducted to Gaza. The post was published after the first memorial he attended, after 491 days in Hamas captivity. Levy describes how during his captivity he prayed that his wife survived: "I prayed that you were okay, that those dogs spared you. Maybe they missed you, maybe you escaped?" He shares the daily longing and the difficulty of raising their son Almog without her: "There is not a day that I don't look at the perfect child I brought into this world with you and cry because I know how proud you would be of him." The post describes Einav's central role in the family, her ability to calm and make peace, and the feeling that her absence is felt every moment. Levy says that at the memorial he recited Kaddish and wanted time alone with his wife, and notes that he sees signs she is leaving them in various ways.
