Houthis retain a dangerous advantage - a new threat to Israel
Yemen expert Inbal Nissim Loveton said the Houthis retain dangerous capabilities, including ballistic missiles and control over densely populated areas of Yemen, despite the loss of strategic territory. This creates a long-term threat to Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Israel. The asymmetric nature of the conflict and the civilian population's dependence on port infrastructure complicate the opponents' military operations.
Yemen expert Inbal Nissim Loveton of the Dayan Center at Tel Aviv University and the Open University said the Houthis retain dangerous capabilities despite the loss of strategic territory. According to the expert, the group possesses ballistic missiles and controls a significant part of Yemen's territory, where more than half of the country's population lives. This combination of military potential and control over densely populated areas makes the Houthis a long-term threat to Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Israel. Loveton noted that the asymmetric nature of the conflict and the civilian population's dependence on port infrastructure complicate the opponents' military operations. Houthi actions in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait area pose a threat to international trade routes. Earlier, "Cursor" wrote that the IDF thwarted another Hamas plan to attack Israel.
