"Honi the Circle-Maker," outside the President's Residence: "I won't leave until the 7/10 government moves from here"

Nir 'Honi' Yanovsky drew a circle in front of the President's Residence in Jerusalem and declared he would not move until the October 7 government is evacuated. He spent the night there and began his second day of protest, calling for a change in the political reality.

Nir 'Honi' Yanovsky, 44, a high-tech worker, married and father of three, stood on President Street in Jerusalem in front of the President's Residence, drew a circle around himself on the sidewalk, held a staff, and declared: 'Our God in heaven, I will not move from here until the October 7 government moves from here.' He spent the night in the circle with a camping mat and pillow, and this morning (Tuesday) began his second day there. Yanovsky, a seventh-generation Jerusalemite, seeks to recreate the act of Honi the Circle-Maker from tradition, and even added the name 'Honi' to his ID card last week. According to him, the current government will bring disaster upon Israel if re-elected, and he refers to the October 7 disaster and the lack of a state commission of inquiry. Passersby stop by, bring him food, and offer help. Yanovsky emphasizes that this is an extreme but non-violent act, and that seven days remain to change reality.
