The Haifa Magistrate's Court continued hearings on Tuesday in the case of the Qassam cemetery in the town of Nesher, built on the ruins of the depopulated village of Sheikh east of Haifa. The dispute is with an Israeli company claiming ownership of part of the cemetery lands. The court held a new session during which the representative of the plaintiff company was interrogated alongside a representative of the endowment trustee, with arguments by lawyer Samar Qadha, who is defending the cemetery and the Haifa endowment trustee. Lawyer Qadha told "Arab 48" that the interrogation revealed, in her words, contradictions in the company representative's claims. She added that the defense team categorically rejected the claims regarding land ownership. The session was attended by dozens of residents from Haifa and the area, including members of families of those buried in the cemetery, along with Arab leaders and figures, as part of following the case and expressing rejection of attempts to seize the cemetery lands.
