Settlement expansion in the West Bank: Occupation brings 'caravans' to Sanur camp south of Jenin

Israeli occupation forces brought mobile homes (caravans) to the Sanur camp south of Jenin, a camp evacuated in 2005, in a step seen as a prelude to rebuilding the settlement outpost and seizing more Palestinian land in the occupied West Bank. Tariq Ighbariya, the settlement file official in Jenin Governorate, told the Palestinian news agency (WAFA) that these moves represent a dangerous field and security escalation, aimed at imposing military control over the area, encroaching on more Palestinian land, and dividing Jenin Governorate into isolated cantons. Ighbariya pointed out that establishing a new settlement outpost at the site, alongside bulldozing operations and military measures, would increase restrictions on agricultural land, deprive farmers of access to it, threatening their livelihoods and causing severe damage to the agricultural sector, and paralyzing agricultural economic activity in affected areas. Ighbariya warned of the serious repercussions of these measures on citizens' lives, especially regarding freedom of movement between towns and villages, and access to land and sources of work.
