Hendel to Winter: Join us and we will be a blocking bloc for non-Zionist governments

YoaZ Hendel, chairman of the Reservists and Economic Party, called on Ofer Winter to retract his commitment to Netanyahu's government and the Haredi parties, and to join a blocking bloc that would prevent the establishment of non-Zionist governments. Hendel proposed an excess vote agreement and a commitment to a Zionist-only government, emphasizing that the reservists are the natural partners for decision-making on the battlefield, not the Haredim or Arabs.

YoaZ Hendel, chairman of the Reservists and Economic Party, held a press conference this morning (Thursday) in which he directly addressed Ofer Winter. Hendel called on Winter to retract his stated commitment to Netanyahu's government and the Haredi parties, and proposed leading a joint political move including an excess vote agreement and a declaration of entering only a Zionist government. Hendel defined this as an attempt to create a blocking bloc that would prevent the establishment of governments relying on non-Zionist elements. In his remarks, Hendel referred to the security and political reality, noting that last night marked three years since the worst disaster since the establishment of the state. He emphasized that the war that broke out following it changed Israeli society, and therefore politics cannot continue as usual. Hendel argued that the political system forces the public to choose between a government with the Haredim that promotes draft dodging, and a government relying on Arab parties that do not recognize Hamas as a terrorist organization. He called on Winter to break out of the concept and join them to achieve a decision on the battlefield and prevent a coalition with Haredi or Arab parties.
