The Israel Canine Unit (ICHAL), in cooperation with officers from the Safed station of the Israel Police, launched today (Tuesday) a special, large-scale search operation in the Safed and Meron area. The operation focuses on locating missing persons whose traces have disappeared in the region over recent years, using advanced technological means and scans in complex terrain. At this stage, the searches are concentrated on locating Raphael Haim Haddad, who was about 60 years old when his traces disappeared on November 18, 2022, from the Safed area, and David Israel Pedida, who was about 28 years old when he disappeared on October 15, 2023. The forces in the field are working to scan extensive terrain cells in the hope of finding a lead that will lead to their location. The police and ICHAL emphasize that the current search areas are also relevant to additional cases of missing persons who have not yet been located in the northern region, including 9-year-old Heimanot Kasau, 16-year-old Moishy Kleinerman, and 37-year-old Moshe Eliezer Ilovitz. The unit appealed to the public for assistance, calling on anyone who knows anything about their whereabouts to contact the unit's hotline.
