Bob Woodward reveals in a new memoir the identities of his secret sources, including Nixon's lawyers who admitted their client was a liar, and his disappointment with Jeff Bezos over cuts at the Washington Post.
Bob Woodward, the legendary Washington Post journalist, reveals in a new memoir titled 'Secrets: Memoirs of a Reporter' the identities of his secret sources over 55 years of his career. The 592-page book, published by Simon & Schuster, comes out on November 24. Among the revelations: Richard Nixon's lawyers, Fred Buzhardt and Leonard Garment, admitted in 17 interviews that their client was a liar. Woodward also reveals how he infiltrated the hospital room of CIA Director William Casey in 1987, and how he learned of a private White House meeting where Nixon broke down in tears and begged Henry Kissinger to join him in prayer. Woodward devotes a chapter to his disappointment with Jeff Bezos, the newspaper's owner, over budget cuts and the paper's withdrawal of support for Kamala Harris. The article also reveals the names of five Supreme Court justices who were interviewed for his 1979 book 'The Brethren'.
