"Gymel scam" in Ukraine: "The hospitalized soldier" suddenly appears on "MasterChef"

Ukrainian authorities are investigating an officer who received permission to be hospitalized in a military hospital, but instead traveled across the country, continued to receive money from the army, and appeared on the 16th season of "MasterChef".

Ukrainian authorities have launched an investigation into officer Victoria Kuznetsova, who received military permission to be hospitalized for four months at a military hospital in Dnipro, but is suspected of using the time for personal purposes – traveling between Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Odesa Oblast, attending to her private affairs, and even appearing on the 16th season of the reality show "MasterChef", where she was presented as a former soldier. During this period, she allegedly continued to receive 250,000 hryvnias (about $6,800) from the army illegally. The State Bureau of Investigation is looking into whether medical officials helped issue false documents.
