Targeting Mosques: 26 Raids on Al-Aqsa, Banning the Call to Prayer at the Ibrahimi Mosque 130 Times, and Burning a Mosque in Ramallah During October
The Palestinian Ministry of Awqaf documents 26 raids on Al-Aqsa Mosque during October, banning the call to prayer at the Ibrahimi Mosque 130 times, and burning a mosque in Ramallah, as part of intensive violations against Islamic holy sites.
The Palestinian Ministry of Awqaf documented escalating violations by the occupation and settlers against Islamic holy sites during the past October. The violations included 26 raids on Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem, coinciding with the Jewish holiday of Sukkot. The occupation also prevented the call to prayer at the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron 130 times during the same period. The ministry added that settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa courtyards under heavy protection from Israeli forces, performing Talmudic and provocative rituals, including public prayers and supplications for Israeli soldiers in front of the Dome of the Rock. Settlers brought the "Four Species" plant offering into the mosque, a behavior extremists see as a prelude to building the alleged temple. The report also included the burning of a mosque in Ramallah and direct attacks on mosques in the occupied West Bank.
