The flagship indices of the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, including the TA-125 and TA-35, are jumping this morning (Friday) by about 3% amid positive messages from Yisrael Beiteinu chairman Avigdor Lieberman and Democrats chairman Yair Golan on social networks, which according to reports indicate progress toward forming a government in cooperation with the ultra-Orthodox parties. The banking index is up 3.7%, the insurance index 5.3%, and the construction index 4.3%. The shekel is strengthening against the dollar (3.18) and the euro (3.56). The gains occur contrary to the global trend: yesterday the Nasdaq fell 5.5% and the S&P 500 fell 4.3%, and today in Asian stock markets declines of over 6% were recorded in Tokyo and Seoul amid the results of the US midterm elections and concerns about investments in artificial intelligence.
