Gaza clans call for Arab action to bring the sector's tragedy back to the forefront

The National Gathering of Palestinian Tribes, Clans, and Families in Gaza called on Arab tribes and clans to launch a popular movement to return the suffering of the sector to the forefront of attention, emphasizing that the ceasefire declaration did not end the humanitarian crisis or the effects of the war. The head of the gathering, Alaa al-Din al-Aklouk, announced that the gathering intends to send messages to dignitaries and tribal elders in Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, and Libya, urging them to organize solidarity movements with Gaza, including designating a Friday for mobilization, followed by a day of mourning for the sector's martyrs. Al-Aklouk pointed to the ongoing humanitarian crises in Gaza, speaking of a decline in health services and damage to medical facilities, along with continued displacement and the destruction of thousands of housing units, warning of the dangers of damaged buildings threatening residents. He accused the occupation of preventing the arrival of recovery supplies and hindering reconstruction efforts. In Jordan, tribal judge and sheikh of Jordanian tribes Trad al-Fayez called for adopting the call of Gaza's clans and restoring popular activism in support of the sector. Jordanian MP Mu'taz al-Harout said the Palestinian cause holds a special place in Jordanian society, calling for expanding popular activism in Jordan and Arab and Islamic countries. These calls come amid the ongoing repercussions of the war on the Gaza Strip, with declining media coverage of the issue. The Gaza Ministry of Health announced on Saturday, September 19, 2026, the martyrdom of 1,390 Palestinians and the injury of 4,801 others since the start of the ceasefire on October 10, 2025.
