Gadi Moses: "Netanyahu knows exactly what happened - and that's why he opposes a state commission of inquiry"

Former hostage Gadi Moses accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of knowing exactly what happened in the October 7 disaster and therefore opposing a state commission of inquiry. In a radio interview, Moses also addressed the rehabilitation process from captivity, the shortage of professional forces to treat trauma, and the possibility of a future political solution.

Former hostage Gadi Moses accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of knowing exactly what happened in the October 7 disaster, and therefore opposing the establishment of a state commission of inquiry. The remarks were made in an interview on the program "This Morning" on Kan News on Reshet Bet, at the start of the national memorial day for the October 7 disaster. Moses also addressed the long and complex rehabilitation process imposed on him and other returnees from captivity, saying "it is possible and necessary to recover." He emphasized the difficulty stemming from the lack of professional knowledge in the field in Israel and worldwide: "There is a shortage of professional forces in the country who know how to treat traumas. There is no example of treating such trauma anywhere in the world, there is no protocol, we learn as we go. They don't know how to treat a community of 100 people who lost 65 of them." When asked about plans for the future in the Strip and the possibility of a political solution with the Palestinians, he said: "I don't think we can talk about peace, but we must talk about what will be tomorrow. Both sides need leadership, there is no one to make peace with, that's an empty slogan." Referring to Netanyahu's meeting with passengers of the Flydubai flight who saved the lives of passengers, Moses said: "I, who sat in captivity for 482 days, have to wait three years to wait for a meeting with him. I am very disappointed." Moses, 80, was kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Oz and held captive in Gaza for 482 days. He was released in the third phase of the hostage deal in January 2025.
