Former Transportation Ministry Director General Takes on Miri Regev: "Where Do You Get the Nerve?"
Keren Turner, former Director General of the Ministry of Transportation, sharply criticizes Transportation Minister Miri Regev over the aviation security failure. Turner claims Regev received a severe State Comptroller report and security reviews but insisted on keeping responsibility within her ministry. She accuses the government of dysfunction, disregard for citizens' lives, and turning the ministry into a "Likud branch office."
Keren Turner, who served as Director General of the Ministry of Transportation and is now a member of the "Beyachad" party, sharply criticized Transportation Minister Miri Regev in an interview on 103FM. Turner accused Regev of receiving a severe State Comptroller report and security reviews from the National Security Council and the Shin Bet regarding the aviation security failure, but insisted on keeping responsibility within her ministry's security division and demanding additional positions. "I don't know where you get the nerve and audacity to play with our lives like this," Turner said, adding that the Prime Minister ruled in Regev's favor. Turner claimed the government will not investigate or fix anything, and that "everything there is rotten." She expanded her criticism to all government ministries, arguing that the public sector is shattered and does not treat citizens' lives with sacred reverence. Turner noted that the Ministry of Transportation has become a "Likud branch office," and that Israel is breaking records in road accidents with over 450 fatalities per year. She called on citizens not to give the government another term, saying "your lives are not in good hands."
