The Michal Sela Forum has launched a fundraising campaign for the two-month-old son of the late Yanina Rusinova, who was brutally murdered in Haifa. The baby, who will never know his mother, has been placed in temporary emergency foster care by welfare authorities in the Haifa municipality. The money raised will be transferred to the baby's grandmother, Anna, who lives in Belarus, and will be used solely for his welfare. Rusinova's husband, Ali Maswada, 28, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and denies the allegations against him. His remand has been extended until October 7. The murder occurred on the night between Thursday and Friday, September 25, on Independence Street in Haifa. Rusinova was found critically wounded from stabbing and her death was pronounced at Rambam Hospital. The grandmother from Belarus has asked to raise her grandson, and the Michal Sela Forum is supporting the family.
