The Ministry of Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism, through UnitEd, will hold the 'International Jewish Educator Conference' from October 12 to 15, 2026. The conference will bring together approximately 250 heads of educational networks, school principals, educators, and teachers from dozens of Jewish educational institutions in the US, France, Argentina, Canada, the UK, Australia, Mexico, Russia, Ukraine, and other countries. They will be joined by 100 Israeli principals and educators as part of a collaboration with the Ministry of Education. The conference will open with a festive gala evening attended by President Isaac Herzog and Minister of Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism Amichai Shikli. During the evening, the 'International Jewish Educator Award' will be granted for the first time to eight outstanding educators, a joint project of the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs, UnitEd, The Jerusalem Post, the World Zionist Organization, Herzog College, and the Mivr Fund. On the second day, a professional global beit midrash day will take place at the Ramada Hotel in Jerusalem, followed by educational tours in the south, the Gaza envelope, and Jerusalem. The ministry's director general, Avi Cohen Sklai, emphasized the importance of Jewish education in the diaspora and the need to strengthen the connection to Israel.
