Israel's National Insurance Institute (Bituah Leumi) has announced an investment of about 28 million shekels to expand rehabilitation assistance for victims of terrorist attacks. The funds are directed toward creating "Soul, Body, Spirit" centers that combine sports, treatment, and leisure. The centers offer pools, gyms, mini-soccer, crossfit, hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and emotional therapy. The first year of services is free for those recognized by the institute as victims of terrorist attacks with at least 20% disability. Currently, there are over 30,000 such individuals, about half of whom live in the south of the country. Three centers have opened in areas bordering the Gaza Strip: in Sha'ar HaNegev, Edei Negev, and Sderot. Other centers are scattered across the country. The centers were selected through an open tender. The Fund for the Development of Services for the Disabled will accompany the projects and collect data to improve operations. Acting director of the institute, Zvi Cohen, stated that the agency's commitment goes beyond financial assistance and aims to return victims to a full life.
