The agricultural sector in the West Bank incurred losses exceeding 3 million dollars due to Israeli attacks within one week, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture. The attacks included uprooting, burning, and breaking trees, stealing crops, destroying agricultural facilities and water sources, bulldozing land, preventing farmers from accessing their land, as well as paving settlement roads and establishing and expanding outposts. The ministry stated that olive trees were the primary target, with 3,192 trees damaged by uprooting, cutting, breaking, and burning, resulting in direct losses of about 2.696 million dollars. The attacks also affected grape and almond trees, livestock, agricultural facilities, water sources, equipment and infrastructure, and field crops. The ministry warned that what is happening to the Palestinian agricultural sector represents a continuous targeting of production capabilities, food security, and farmers' resilience. It called on the international community, UN institutions, and human rights organizations to provide protection for Palestinian farmers and their lands. This coincides with the start of the olive harvest season in early October, amid increasing restrictions on farmers' access to their fields. According to the Commission of Resistance to the Wall and Settlements, more than 45,000 trees were cut or damaged in the West Bank during the first half of 2026, including over 26,000 olive trees.
