Police are preparing for road closures in the Bnei Brak area starting at 3:00 PM, following Haredi protests against the arrest of draft dodgers. Highway 4 is expected to be closed in both directions between Aluf Sade and Em HaMoshavot junctions, and there may also be congestion on Jabotinsky Street. Police recommend that the public use alternative routes and avoid coming to the area. The protests have become routine in recent months, with the Jerusalem faction launching massive demonstrations in Jerusalem and the Dan region about two and a half weeks ago, and last week Highway 4 was blocked near Yavne. The background to the protests is a law canceling the arrest of draft dodgers that passed in the Knesset, but the High Court issued a temporary order freezing it following four petitions.
