A New York Times investigation reveals that US intelligence agencies have concluded that a Chinese businesswoman close to Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of Nvidia, transferred intelligence information to Beijing. At the center of the affair is Alice Huang, a Chinese citizen who held a senior position at Singapore-based Megaspeed, which is under investigation on suspicion of helping Chinese companies gain access to advanced AI chips despite export restrictions. According to the report, US President Donald Trump was briefed on the matter about a year ago but chose not to take action. The investigation does not determine whether Huang was aware of her intelligence activities. Nvidia rejected the claims and stated that the ties with the businesswoman were routine and that the CEO meets with thousands of clients annually. Megaspeed said it takes the allegations seriously and has hired legal advisors.
