Fighting for his life - and praying: The condition of Neriah Leiter, hospitalized at Shaare Zedek

A terrorist emerged with his vehicle and deliberately struck a police patrol car in which a policewoman and an IDF soldier were operating. Leiter was evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem with severe head injuries. Since then, he has undergone two complex surgeries, including a brain surgery that lasted hours, and his condition is defined as very serious with life-threatening risk. He is sedated and ventilated. The hospital reports no change in his condition. His father, Ambassador Yehiel Leiter, landed in Israel on Thursday following the injury. His mother, Hani, said in an interview that he is stable in vital signs but severely wounded in the head, and no active bleeding site was found. Worshippers came to the Western Wall to pray for his recovery.
