According to the indictment, Abu Arar drove at a speed higher than permitted and overtook while crossing a white dividing line. Shahaf's sister told Walla: "We arrive tomorrow with immense pain, unrelenting longing, and a feeling of lives cruelly cut short." She added: "No sentence will bring them back, but we expect the punishment to be significant and convey a clear message: human life is not abandoned." Attorney Hadas Bariah, representing the families through legal aid, stated that the driver ignored traffic rules, crossed a white dividing line, and drove in the opposite direction for minutes until she hit and killed the two. The families will arrive at court hoping for a significant punishment.
