The Israeli embassy in the country announced today (Sunday) that it is working to locate several Israelis who are out of contact, including tourists staying in mountainous areas with access difficulties. The embassy is in contact with tourism companies and local guides to locate the Israelis and assist in moving them to safe areas, as much as possible and according to terrain conditions. The article recalls that about a month ago, a severe and sudden flood hit Nepal, killing 919 people and leaving about 4,700 missing on both sides of the border, including nearly 600 foreign citizens. The United States pledged $500,000 in aid for the rehabilitation of affected communities, and at least 54 American citizens, most of them tourists, were reported missing.
