An analysis of 278 social media posts by Israeli party leaders, conducted by the AI Claude, reveals that the election campaign focuses on smearing rival bloc candidates rather than presenting substantive plans. The analysis, published on ynet, examined 13 candidates whose parties pass the electoral threshold according to polls, on X, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, from September 16 to October 17. The leading category for Benjamin Netanyahu, Gadi Eisenkot, Avigdor Lieberman, and Yair Golan is 'negative on the rival bloc'. Netanyahu posted the most (647), but only 2% focused on substantive plans. In contrast, Naftali Bennett (12%) and Lieberman (8%) led in this category. The change bloc primarily attacked Netanyahu personally – 278 posts against him, 3.6 times more than the next target (Eisenkot). More than half of Lieberman's (54%), Eisenkot's (51%), and Golan's (50%) tweets on X were classified as negative. Netanyahu focused on Eisenkot (59 posts) and attacked Bennett less (nine posts). The slogan 'Right or Palestine' became prominent in Netanyahu and Smotrich's campaign and was echoed by rivals.
