Due to a poster about the Nakba and the right of return... Tel Aviv University tries to evict a student from her housing

Tel Aviv University's housing administration is attempting to evict an Arab student from her room because she posted a poster about the Nakba and the right of return of Palestinian refugees. The 'Adalah' legal center filed an appeal that temporarily canceled the decision, amid escalating persecution of Palestinian students in Israeli universities.

In the latest episode of the persecution of Palestinian students in Israeli universities, Tel Aviv University's housing administration attempted to evict an Arab student from her room in recent days, on the grounds that she posted a poster addressing the Nakba and the right of return of Palestinian refugees. The 'Adalah' legal center filed an appeal against the eviction decision, prompting the disciplinary committee to temporarily cancel the housing administration's decision. This incident comes within a broader context of restrictions on Palestinian presence in academic campuses, where 'Adalah' documented in a previous report titled 'Apartheid in Israeli Universities' that 132 students were referred to disciplinary proceedings in about 40 academic institutions since October 7, 2023, including 131 Palestinian students. The data showed that 101 of the cases were female students, constituting 76.5%.
