Ronen Tzur, former head of the Hostage Families Headquarters, revealed in an interview with 103fm that he met during the war with Jay Footlik, a Jewish-American lobbyist working for Qatar. According to Tzur, Footlik proposed cooperation that crossed every red line, and the meeting ended in shouting. Tzur refused to detail the proposal but hinted at the possibility of personal gain: "If I had closed my eyes and momentarily set aside Israeli patriotic values." He added that he was cautious during the meeting, assuming it was being recorded and documented. His harshest criticism was directed at the entourage of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, amid suspicions of Qatari involvement in his office. "There is a prime minister here who employs a person that today no one can say was not a Qatari operative," he claimed.
