British counter-terrorism police investigating a suspected bomb plot at RAF Fairford released a dual UK-Iranian national on bail. The 25-year-old was arrested on Thursday over the incident last weekend involving the airbase in western England, from which US bombers have taken part in airstrikes against targets in Iran. Police confirmed he had been released, and searches at two properties in London had concluded. Five additional British men in their 20s, arrested near three vans on suspected terrorism and explosive offenses, were also released on bail under stringent conditions. Police said petrol was found in the vans but no improvised explosive device was present. The investigation is continuing. US President Donald Trump said there was a plan to cause big damage at the air base, while US Secretary of State Marco Rubio pointed to the hands of a foreign actor. Iran has said accusations it was involved were baseless and summoned the British ambassador in Tehran.
