Saudi Arabia is preparing a large-scale military operation against Yemen's Houthis. According to Reuters, one of the key objectives will be to establish control over the strategic Bab el-Mandeb Strait and ensure the resumption of shipping on the route between Europe and Asia. The offensive could begin in the coming weeks. The main ground effort is planned to be carried out by Yemeni formations supported by Riyadh, with air support from Saudi Arabia. Two scenarios are being considered: a local offensive in the strait area or attacks on multiple fronts (the provinces of Al Bayda, Marib, Taiz, and Al Jawf). Riyadh may deploy over 100,000 Yemeni troops. The preparations are linked to the strengthening of the Houthis, who expanded their presence along the coast in September and established control over the strait area. The US is providing intelligence, but President Trump has refused direct involvement. Turkey and Pakistan are providing military support; France is preparing air defense systems to protect the port of Yanbu.
