Drama over Ben-Gurion: El Al plane abruptly aborts landing

During the approach, the aircraft deviated from the calculated trajectory by approximately 1.85 kilometers and descended to an altitude of about 180 meters (600 feet) above the ground. The crew stopped the descent, increased thrust, and performed a go-around. About 20 minutes later, the aircraft landed successfully on a second approach. No injuries or damage to the aircraft were reported. The airline stated that the crew acted in accordance with established procedures and that the incident was not classified as a safety-related event. The reasons for the initial deviation from the trajectory have not yet been determined.
