Against the backdrop of a budget dispute between National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and the police, the fighters make clear they do not want his visits. In a letter Ben Gvir sent to the police, he listed budget demands, including a demand for renovations at Lahav 433 totaling 7 million shekels for a project that began without approval, alongside other demands he termed non-urgent. The fighters sent a sharp message to Police Commissioner Danny Levy: "When you come to visit us, don't bring the minister with you anymore. We don't want to see him. If that's how he cares for us – we don't want his visits. He's waging a war on our backs." According to them, "Much thanks to the operations we carried out, Israel could feel safe on Rosh Hashanah, but renovating our living quarters is impossible because there's no money?"
