A convoy of motorcycles and scooters waving green flags associated with the Islamic Movement and Ra'am sparked panic among Negev residents yesterday (Wednesday, October 7, 2026). Drivers on southern roads momentarily feared another security incident, given the date of October 7. Right-wing activist Yigal Malka published footage and wrote that drivers thought they were Hamas flags. Chairman of the Zehut party Moshe Feiglin responded harshly, calling for the arrest of all participants. National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir also addressed the incident, noting that Yoav Unit forces operated at the scene. The unit's fighters set up a checkpoint near the Ohalim junction. One rider who tried to flee lost control of the scooter and overturned, and was arrested. A check revealed he was driving without a license and without insurance. Volt company stated they have no connection to the incident and that the bags identified were reported stolen. The police reported that as part of enforcement against bullying on southern roads, more than 1,000 traffic tickets were issued this week.
