Days after being released from prison: Eliran charged with attempting to murder his ex-wife's partner
An indictment was filed against Eliran Salmi from Beit Shemesh, who attempted to stab to death his ex-wife's partner just days after completing a prison sentence for threats and assault against the two.
The State Prosecutor's Office filed an indictment in the Jerusalem District Court against Eliran Salmi, a resident of Beit Shemesh, for the attempted murder of his ex-wife's partner. According to the indictment, Salmi stabbed the victim five times in the chest and back, causing stab wounds and a fractured collarbone. The incident occurred on August 30, just days after Salmi was released from a 13-month prison sentence for threats and assault against the same ex-wife and her partner. Salmi arrived at her home, threatened the victim, and after about an hour returned armed with a kitchen knife, climbed onto a canopy, put on gloves, and entered the house against their will. He stabbed the victim while shouting "Die! Die!" and bit his ear. A neighbor who arrived at the scene separated the parties and took the knife. The victim was evacuated by a mobile intensive care unit to the hospital, hospitalized, and underwent surgery. The prosecution attributes to Salmi offenses of attempted murder, aggravated assault, threats, and assault, and requested to extend his detention until the end of proceedings.
