A political confrontation erupted in the Eisenkot bloc this evening (Thursday) after Democratic Party chairman Yair Golan responded to remarks by "Together" party chairman Naftali Bennett. In an interview with the "Sari and Shlezinger" program on Walla News, Bennett said, "Yair Golan will not be Minister of Justice; controversial people will not hold sensitive positions." In response, Golan replied, "The judicial system must be in the hands of those who will defend its independence and not allow Kahale and the supporters of the coup to return through the back door." Additionally, the article notes that two days ago, Bennett revealed one of his party's fundamental conditions for the next government - the "Deri Law," which would prevent draft dodgers from sitting in the cabinet. At the International Conference on Counter-Terrorism at Reichman University, Bennett said that draft dodging is a strategic threat to Israel's security.
