"Clalit" to Build Major Logistics Center in Be'er Sheva
Clalit Health Services will build a logistics center in Be'er Sheva for 400 million shekels. The decision was made in light of recent combat experience with Iran, when missile strikes damaged Soroka Hospital and disrupted the supply of medicines to the south. The 27,500 sq. m center on a 23-dunam plot will be equipped with automated systems and designed for 20 years. It will create over 100 jobs.
Clalit Health Services will build a new logistics center in Be'er Sheva at a cost of 400 million shekels. The decision was made in light of recent combat experience with Iran: Iranian missile strikes caused serious damage to Soroka Hospital and other infrastructure in the south, leading to disruptions in the supply of medicines to the region. Clalit concluded that the south needs its own independent logistics center. It will be built on a plot of about 23 dunams, with above-ground space of about 27,500 sq. m. The center will be equipped with modern automated systems for inventory management, order fulfillment, and distribution. According to Clalit, the complex should meet the health fund's needs for at least the next 20 years. Currently, Clalit's main logistics centers are in Shoham and Haifa; the new complex will become the third, southern link in the supply chain. The center will directly supply Soroka and Yoseftal hospitals, as well as hundreds of clinics and pharmacies in the south. Be'er Sheva Mayor Ruvik Danilovich noted that the project will create over 100 jobs.
