In an interview with the 103FM program, Maj. Gen. (res.) Eliezer Marom claims that the Houthis now control the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and that Saudi Arabia is struggling to deal with them. According to him, the crisis may lead to a major regional move, expanding the Abraham Accords and deepening Iran's isolation. Marom quotes the Houthis as saying they are fighting against Saudi Arabia, with Israel and the US out of the picture. He argues that the Saudis understand there is no substitute for the Abraham Accords, and that the US remains the dominant factor in the region. Marom predicts that Iran remains alone without support, and that the Iranian regime will eventually fall. He says more and more countries will join the Abraham Accords, and we are heading toward a completely different picture in the Middle East.
