The owner of a factory in the Sdot Negev Regional Council filed a complaint today (Monday) with the Netivot police after discovering that during the Sukkot holiday, a cell broke into his factory and stole a safe containing checks worth millions of shekels. During the holiday, a security alarm was activated at the factory, but forces that arrived at the scene found no trace of a break-in. Only after the holiday, when the business owner arrived at the factory, was the theft discovered. The police have opened an investigation. The factory owner is a well-known businessman who purchased the factory, considered one of the largest in the country, about a year ago. Meanwhile, a similar break-in was reported in a moshav in the Merhavim Regional Council, where a cell arrived at a home whose owners were away and stole jewelry and gold. The cell also broke into a safe where a gun belonging to the homeowner was kept. The police have opened an investigation into both cases.
