Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that Russia was planning "large-scale" strikes, and described the attack as "one of the most despicable strikes" in the nearly five-year conflict. Russia launched at least 50 missiles and 130 drones overnight, and Ukrainian air defenses intercepted five ballistic missiles, 39 cruise missiles, and over 100 drones. The attacks led to scheduled power outages in Kyiv.
