Arab Israelis report receiving call to vote on Election Day in name of murdered girl Sousan Sultan

Over 1,000,000 Arab Israeli citizens received a recorded call on Election Day asking them to vote in the name of Sousan Sultan, an Arab girl murdered in 2025. Her sister recorded the message; Standing Together said the 2026 elections were a chance to change the situation for Israeli Arabs and cited violence and crime as the norm.

More than 1,000,000 Arab Israeli citizens received a recorded phone call on Tuesday, Election Day, asking them to vote in the name of an Arab girl murdered in 2025. The call was recorded by Sousan Sultan, whose sister Susan was killed in April 2025 and whose husband Ziad was murdered in August 2026. "My sister was murdered, and she cannot vote in the election," Sousan says in the recording. "This is a fateful election. I ask that you go out and vote in the name of my sister Susan." The recording carries a credit to the Standing Together organization, which said the 2026 elections represented a chance to change the situation for Israeli Arabs. "The situation in our society has reached an unprecedented low; violence and crime have become the norm, and we can no longer remain silent in the face of this," the organization stated. It added that it was heading to the polls "to put an end to this distorted reality" and described a Jewish-Arab partnership as the path toward change.
