Claims of Delayed Voting in Right-Wing Strongholds – and the Election Committee's Response

Deputy Chairman of the Central Elections Committee, MK Araz Malul, alleges deliberate delays in voting at right-wing and ultra-Orthodox strongholds. Following his appeal, the committee sharpened procedures for polling station secretaries to prevent congestion.

Deputy Chairman of the Central Elections Committee, MK Araz Malul (Shas), claims that numerous complaints have been received about deliberate delays in voting at right-wing and ultra-Orthodox strongholds. According to him, polling station secretaries were instructed to delay the voting. Following his appeal, the committee convened and decided on an immediate sharpening of procedures for all polling station secretaries. Among the procedures that were sharpened: no delaying voters with an invalid ID as long as the photo is clear, allowing continuous voting flow, efficient envelope signing to prevent bottlenecks, and an absolute ban on delaying voters with disabilities while giving them priority in line.
