"Apple" unveils "Home View": connecting home assistant to personal phone data

Apple has unveiled a new smart home display called "Home View," which combines control of connected devices with conversations with its "Siri AI" assistant, in an attempt to expand the use of artificial intelligence from the personal phone to a shared family device. The device relies on iPhone data to provide personalized responses, starting at $299 in the US market, with a limited launch in November.

Apple has announced a new smart home display called "Home View," in a step aimed at expanding the use of artificial intelligence from the personal phone to a shared device within the family. The device combines control of connected home appliances with conversations with the "Siri AI" voice assistant, and relies on the user's personal iPhone data to provide customized responses, such as extracting a recipe from messages or knowing when a guest will arrive. The company demonstrated how the displayed content automatically switches when the device recognizes another person in the home. Apple confirmed that personal information is not stored on the screen itself, but access is limited to a paired personal device with identity verification conditions. Home products manager Kayann Drance explained that the goal is not to create a marketing profile for the user, but to provide a service based on their personal context. The device uses the "A18" chip and recognizes up to 6 users. Displaying private messages and appointments requires facial recognition and a recently unlocked paired iPhone or iPad, while general functions like weather and thermostat control can be made available to others. The device comes with a 7-inch screen, with tabletop and wall-mount options, starting at $299 in the US market, with a limited launch in November in specific markets, not a global release covering all countries or languages.
