Katz: "If Hezbollah joins Iran in the attack – it will be dealt a severe blow"
Defense Minister Israel Katz visited Lebanon and threatened Hezbollah that if it joins an Iranian attack on Israel, it will be dealt a severe blow, lose territory in southern Lebanon, and the Dahieh neighborhood in Beirut will be evacuated. Katz also threatened Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem with assassination.
Defense Minister Israel Katz visited Lebanon on Wednesday and issued a harsh threat to Hezbollah. During a tour with senior Northern Command officials, Katz warned that if the terrorist organization joins an Iranian attack on Israel, it will face a severe response. Katz detailed: Hezbollah will be dealt a severe blow, will lose additional territory in southern Lebanon in the areas of Nabatieh and the Litani, which will become part of Israel's permanent security zone, and the Dahieh neighborhood in Beirut will be evacuated, displacing over a million Shiites. The visit was conducted alongside Northern Command Major General Rafi Milo and 91st Division Commander Brigadier General Yuval Gaz. Katz received a briefing on Operation "Plowshare" to destroy terrorist infrastructure and praised the soldiers. He concluded with a personal threat: "Nasrallah destroyed the Shiite community until he was eliminated – and Naim Qassem may destroy it completely – until he too is eliminated."
