Amit Halevi reveals what he saw in Rahat: "They were offered 400 shekels, then 800"
MK Amit Halevi claimed in an interview with Channel 14 that he met residents in Rahat who received cash offers of 400 and 800 shekels and fuel vouchers in exchange for their votes. According to him, he documented the testimonies and passed them to the Central Elections Committee, and Likud filed 1,200 complaints. Halevi warned of foreign involvement and called for preventing the swearing-in of MKs allegedly elected through bribery.
Likud MK Amit Halevi claimed in an interview with Channel 14 that on election day he met residents in Rahat who told him about cash offers of hundreds of shekels and fuel vouchers in exchange for their votes. According to him, he documented the testimonies and passed them to the Central Elections Committee, warning that suspicions of election bribery require a comprehensive review before results are certified. Halevi said he arrived at the 'Al-Hikma' school in Rahat at 8:00 PM, where he met people who were offered 400 shekels, then 800 shekels, and then fuel vouchers. He claimed residents reported the incident to election committee representatives and tried to call the police, but officers arrived only later. He later said he called the director of the elections committee, went to Jerusalem, and spoke with Judge Solberg and the acting director-general of the committee. Halevi argued this was not an isolated incident but part of a broad vote-buying mechanism, and that Likud filed 1,200 complaints. He raised allegations of possible foreign involvement in funding the activity, comparing the mechanism to money transfer networks he knows from the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee. Halevi criticized Yashar party chairman Gadi Eisenkot and others, calling on Judge Solberg to prevent certification of results based on bribery.
