American finds $128,000 on the street – his decision stunned

A Texas resident found a bag containing $128,514 in cash and bank checks near an ATM. The man turned the find over to police, who returned the money to its owner — the armored car company Brinks, whose technician had forgotten the bag.

A resident of the U.S. state of Texas discovered a bag with $128,514 in cash and 19 bank checks near a Bank of America ATM in the city of Lewisville. The man first took the find to a nearby Chick-fil-A restaurant, whose logo was on the bag, but the manager explained that the money did not belong to the establishment. He then called the police. Law enforcement determined that the cash belonged to the bank and was being transported by the armored car company Brinks — a technician had forgotten the bag while servicing the ATM. Officers counted the bills twice, both manually and using a currency counter; the amount matched the manifest. All funds were returned to the owner.
