Israel's ambassador to the US, Yehiel Leiter, provided an update on the condition of his son Neriah, who was seriously wounded in a ramming attack on Highway 443. Neriah has begun breathing on his own but remains unconscious and suffers from severe head injuries. The family asks to continue prayers.

Israel's ambassador to the United States, Yehiel Leiter, updated today (Wednesday) on an improvement in the condition of his son Neriah, a reserve soldier who was seriously wounded in the ramming attack at the checkpoint on Highway 443. According to Leiter, Neriah began breathing on his own in recent days, but his condition is still defined as serious, he suffers from complex head injuries and has not yet regained full consciousness. Neriah was evacuated in critical condition to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, where he underwent complex brain surgery. The attack occurred when a Palestinian terrorist rammed him near the checkpoint. The Leiter family had already lost their eldest son, Major Moshe Yedidya Leiter, who fell in battle in the Gaza Strip in November 2023. Despite the loss, Neriah continued to serve in the reserves and completed hundreds of days of service since the outbreak of the war. The family thanks the public for its support and asks to continue prayers for his recovery.
